Palm Pre review – better than the iPhone

Hands on review of Palm’s Pre smartphone, unveiled at CES 2009, with 8 reasons why it could be better than the Apple iPhone… on paper at least!

The Pre is available in the first half of the year on Sprint in the US, with a 3G version arriving in Europe later in the year.

idk y u like big screens

  2. JudicatorMX says:

It sucks… Most of the mentioned functions are useless. The most important I think is multi-tasking, but you would easily survive without others. Camera doesn’t even have an auto-focus function. I think most people will stick with iPhone.

  3. GerryLabels says:

The applications are great first of all… I played with one at the sprint store last night. 2, it has an actual keyboard. Finally, the screen is 0.4 inches small than i-phone, its the perfect size. typing is easy. AND, you’ll be able to use every app you can use on the Iphone with it. It is better than the iphone in every way.

  4. GerryLabels says:

“most of the mentioned functions are useless.” Hey Steve Jobs get out of here…Just go back to the drawing board.

  8. pyro74boy says:

And I will say that if the iphone pro comes out I might be buying it. Do you have any more info on it? and do you have any idea on a price yet?

  9. Temporaryaccount2 says:

I don’t have any pricing info…but I can assume it will be quite a bit of money:(

  10. pyro74boy says:

Keep me posted on any updates please on the pro thanks

  11. birdlobby says:

I think its a great device, BUT the APPStore on the iPhone is probably something for many people which is a must have.

Hope this phone will have something similar to that and lots of developers working on it for better competition between phones.. I own an iPhone, very satisfied with it. but still looking forward to this device coming out and further google android devices!

    cheers

And your views are strictly YOUR views.. asshole. Obama sucks, he is a one term president. And what the fuck does obama even have to do with the video… Its about a GODDAMN PHONE!!!! Wow… gotta love all the crazy fucktard clowns on youtube…

  14. integgy95 says:

Dont worry bro, I got your back :) )

  15. integgy95 says:

So you send it into Apple…big fucking deal. iPhone owns and you know it. I would not say that this is better… Plus when the iPhone 3.0 firmware is released, it will make the phone THAT much better… Stop hating and get a life.

  16. Temporaryaccount2 says:

just look at you…you’re the biggest fag i’ve ever seen

  17. iSkytheVideo says:

    1. That’s not multi-touch…….
    2. I’ll give you that, but 3.0 is bringing Push Notification
    3. That’s an opinion really. I personally prefer the touch keyboard on the iPhone.
    4. No argument here, but there are rumors that the next iphone will have a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus.
    5. You can set up multiple accounts on iPhone too….and you have a facebook app.
    6. Minor detail, not an “iPhone Killer” detail.
    7. Ever heard of iTunes?
    8. Just download google app for iPhone.

  18. CidForfeit says:

1.But it does have multi touch. See demo vids.
3.Also, you can type much faster with a PHYSICAL keyboard
4.Yes, NEXT iPhone, which you don’t have
    7. Yes, but too bad iTunes is so damn overpriced

  19. birdlobby says:

hahaha nice. temporaryaccount2 jerks off with his own turds

  20. birdlobby says:

I’ll fuck you until you love me faggot!

  21. iSkytheVideo says:

    1. Ok, but that’s a preference still.
    3. I type much faster with the virtual keyboard than with my blackberry bold’s keyboard. Depends on person.
    4. You are correct, I DON’T have it. If you read the whole sentence you’d see I agreed Pre’s Camera is better than the iPhone’s. Most phone’s are.
    7. But MP4 has better audio quality than MP3s, so a few extra cents for better quality is no big deal.

  22. davindkap says:

I’m getting the Pre soon as it is released. Screw the iphone can’t even type on it. Apple always has everything backward.

  23. Temporaryaccount2 says:

    dam you birdlobbbbbbbyyyyy!!!!

  24. birdlobby says:

hahahha damn you temporaryaccount2 hahahahaha hey there cock boy you wanna get a hotel room with me. you want me to melt in your mouth boy. hahhahahahahahahahah

  25. redrebel69 says:

to me the killer features are

    - multitasking. the ability to run multiple apps at the same time.
    - mp3 download from amazon. DRM free music file allows me to listen the same mp3 in multiple devices.
    - the keyboard. I cannot type as fast on the a touchscreen

The iPhone is – if I may say so – one of the greatest mobile revolutions of the past decade. More and more, mobile phones seem to materialize out of our wildest dreams. Because of the tight integration of third-party applications, you can do nearly everything with your device — be it gaming, working, fooling around, and of course phoning. However, because of the sheer vastness of possibilities, not a lot of people are using their iPhone to the full extent of its capabilities. As of such, a lot of great features are missed on the users.

Find out how to get your hands on fresh applications, how to keep your device synchronized and even how to jailbreak your iPhone!

  • New app promises wireless sync for iPhone — if Apple approves it (Ben Patterson)
Ben Patterson - Zune users have been able to sync their music and videos over Wi-Fi for years now — not so for patrons of the iPhone or iPod Touch, which can only sync up files via USB tethering. That said, an enterprising developer is looking to change the game when it comes to wireless iPhone and/or iPod Touch syncing ... if Apple will let him, that is. […]
  • BlackBerry's new Pearl 3G goes old-school with 14-button keypad (Ben Patterson)
Ben Patterson - What's the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to a BlackBerry? For me, it's Research In Motion's iconic QWERTY keypad, or at the very least the modified "SureType" keyboard, which crams a couple of letter keys on each number key. So it's a little jarring to get a load of RIM's new, pumped-up Pearl […]
