Xbox 360 Fix DIY for Low Budgets

When Xbox was introduced to the market in the last quarter of 2005, everybody was scrambling to buy this game console. Today, it is still so popular that it has become the number one competitor of the Sony PlayStation.

Indeed, the Xbox 360 has revolutionized the video gaming industry, with the development of so many new features in terms of its function and graphics. Because of its highly advanced features, players are not only limited to kids and teenagers, in fact, it is common to see adults playing with it too. But as with most game consoles, the Xbox 360 is not perfect. There are times when problems occur. If you own an Xbox 360, you should know this. You should not worry though because you can certainly fix some simple issues  like DIY Xbox 360 repair on your own.

Reasons for the occurrence of technical issues:

There are several reasons that could trigger problems with the Xbox 360. For one thing, if you have been playing with it for hours on end, it could result to overheating of the game console, which can be a common issue because a lot of people get addicted to it. Second, it could be because the room where the game console is placed has poor ventilation, and this would still end up in overheating. When this happens, the Xbox 360 could malfunction. Thus game freezing and graphics issues occur.

Quick Fixes

Below is Xbox self repair DIY guide. These guidelines are pretty simple, even the most non-techie person will not have any problem understanding them.

• The first step to take when trying to fix your Xbox 360 is to clean it. Yes you heard it right. There could be lots of dust and grime causing it to not function properly. Airflow is important so make sure the vents are clean too.

• Next, you need to make sure you put your Xbox 360 in an area where it is cool and with sufficient ventilation. Again, you do not want to have to deal with overheating problems.

• If the first two steps do not seem to help, you can try and open up your game console. However, you need to remember that this could void its warranty so only do this if it is already out of warranty. The first thing to do is take off the face plate by removing the tabs which you can find at the bottom and sides of the console. As you remove the tabs, pull the face plate upwards. You can then remove the DVD drive and the heat sink. Then you can start cleaning the CPU as well as the GPU and thereafter, you can place a thermal compound on the GPU, which you can purchase at a computer or electronic shop for a buck. Then, place washers on top and below the heat sink screws. Once done, put them all back and that’s about it!

As you can see, DIY Xbox 360 is not hard at all! You can also check out a fast Xbox fixing guide very easily. Make sure to find the best ones, in terms of reliability (of the seller) and value for money.
